Editorial – When God is Displeased With the Church Part I
We love to read the statements in the Bible that describe God rejoicing over His rescued heritage with singing (Zephaniah 3), but the Bible also teaches that God is a moral governor as well as a father. He is displeased when His professed people go directly contrary to His counsel.

The Seven Churches, Part VII : The Church of Sardis
So, we expect to hear many wonderful things about the church of Sardis, but what a surprise! What a shock to find that the very time we expect to hear the greatest blessing and acclamation of praise, it is not so.

God had not spoken peace. He appealed to the people to repent. The time came when, because of their sins, the Babylonian captivity was allowed, as the lightest punishment that could be given, and even then, God decided to make their lot lighter by telling them to cooperate with their conquerors.
Salvation
...when Adam and Eve were created, God gave them this zoe life. As long as they remained perfect and connected to God, Who is the Source of life, their lives continued on in conditional eternal life. Peter’s Counsel to Parents, Part IV
All heaven is interested in our children, and parents grieve the Spirit of God when they fail to bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. Parents, be kind to your children, but be firm. Let them see that you mean all that you tell them.

Lessons from the Children of Israel, Part IV
There are very few passages of Scripture that can be classified as sad passages, but Numbers 20, for several reasons, is indeed a very sad chapter.
History

Question
Ask the Pastor – Avoid Erroneous Teaching

Restoring the Temple – Control of Appetite
The appetite and passions should be restricted and under the control of enlightened conscience, that the intellect may be unimpaired, the perceptive powers clear, so that the workings of Satan and his snares may not be interpreted to be the providence of God.
Nature
The most striking feature of an owl is its eyes. They are very large and forward facing and, depending on the species, may account for one to five percent of the owl’s body weight.

Children’s Corner – Who I am I?
This puzzle was written by a lady who lived in California during the year of 1890, in response to an offer from a gentleman residing in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, who claimed he would pay $1,000 to anyone who could write a puzzle he could not solve.

The Pen of Inspiration – A Warning Rejected
Revelation 18 points to the time when, as the result of rejecting the threefold warning of Revelation 14:6–12, the church will have fully reached the condition foretold by the second angel, and the people of God still in Babylon will be called upon to separate from her communion.
Food, Recipe
Food for Life – Creamy Cucumber Dressing
When the Lord took His people from Egypt, He did not give them flesh-meat to eat till they mourned and wept in His ears, saying, ‘Who shall give us flesh to eat? We remember the flesh, which we did eat in Egypt freely; the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and ... Read more
