These three men joined together and published a paper called the Day-Dawn. It was one of a number of Adventist journals that were published following the Disappointment.
It was only a few days before His crucifixion and His disciples were perplexed by what Jesus had predicted. They approached Him on the Mount of Olives with the questions, “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and the end of the age?” Matthew 24:3.
Do you suppose that the Christians who insisted on keeping the commandments of God and were therefore forced out of the professed church were accused of leaving the church? But who were the real separationists?
Among those to whom bitter disappointment will come at the day of final reckoning will be some who have been outwardly religious, and who apparently have lived Christian lives.
“The great mass of professing Christians will meet with bitter disappointment in the day of God. They have not upon their foreheads the seal of the living God.”
